Start: 8.45am

Finish: 3.15pm

Break: 10.45am - 11am

Lunch: 12pm - 1pm

Welcome to Years 5 and 6,

I hope you all had a great summer break and are raring to go!

I am very much looking forward to seeing all of you again in September to learn, explore, develop and most importantly, have fun! We’ve got some really exciting learning planned for this term and I can’t wait to start our new history topic with you: Victorians.

Our PE days are Mondays and Wednesdays- please ensure that your children come into school wearing their PE kits on these days.

Maths homework will be set on a Friday and will be due in on Wednesday (Year 5s will continue with Mathletics, whilst Year 6 will be using Maths For SATS- log ins will be supplied for both of the above). Spelling homework will be set on a Tuesday and be due in on the following Monday (so they will have just less than a week to complete their spelling sheet- this is using a new scheme so will look different to how we did it last year).

In addition to the homework sent, please ensure that your child is reading at home daily. Reading can unlock so many amazing skills and can transport your child to another place and in addition to this can really help with your child’s writing and spelling. They do not need to read to an adult every night, they can read to themselves, but having an adult listen to them read 2-3 times a week is invaluable.
